This is our first Competitor of the Week interview. We receive nominations from rodeo organizations and then we reach out to speak with the Competitor about their rodeo experiences.
How long have you been competing in Rodeo?
I started mutton busting when I was 4 Years old.
In what events do you usually compete?
Just bulls.
How long have you been a member of Georgia Florida Youth Rodeo?
2-year for WWRA. Georgia Florida youth rodeo for about 3 years.
What is your favorite event?
Bulls.
How did you first get interested in rodeo?
Just watching it from a very young age.
Who has been important in helping you compete in rodeo?
My mom and dad because they help drive me to rodeos and help me practice.
What do you do to improve your rodeo skills?
I have a practice barrel and we got some practice bulls. Normally we get on bulls at rodeos normally every weekend and practice on the barrel.
In how many rodeos a year do you compete?
Pretty much every weekend. About 35 a year. Sometimes different rodeos but same days.
Do you have any family members that also compete or used to compete?
I have someone that’s related to me that roped.
Who is your favorite rodeo athlete?
Stetson Wright.
What other interests or hobbies do you have?
Fishing and hunting.
Do you compete in any other sports?
Baseball.
What is your favorite baseball team?
The Atlanta Braves
Have you always been around horses?
I grew up around horses.
Did you grow up on a farm or ranch?
Grew up around farming and agriculture.
Have you ever won any awards or placed in the top three for event standings or all around standings in your rodeo career? If yes, what awards?
Georgia Florida was reserve champion and 3rd place
Flying G, was champion last year.
World finals placed top 10
Where do you hope your rodeo career takes you?
PRCA and PBR.
What do you plan to do next?
Competing in Las Vegas in the Junior NFR
