Getting Started with Rodeo Software

How you get started with the Rodeo Ready free rodeo software products will depend on which of the products you need.  The all start from the same place, by creating your free account with a simple form submission.  You can find the link to create your account in the top menu of the software website or directly from the links below.

After you complete the form, you will receive an email which will include your account login details as well as further instructions to help you get started.  These instructions vary by software and are summarized below.

Rodeo Management System

When you login to your account, you will be in the Dashboard.  From there you can access the User Guide by choosing Dashboard – User Guide from the menu, clicking the Jump to User Guide button, or simply scrolling down the screen.  The User Guide includes description of the features in Rodeo Management System (RMS).  At the end of the User Guide there is a series of instructional videos which will show you how to use many of the features both with video demonstration and audio instructions.

If you are going to be taking online payment for your rodeo entries, you will need to set up a Connected account on our payment Platform.  There will be instructions included in the initial email as well as information found in Dashboard – Your Account.

One of the most important recommendations in getting set up for using RMS is that we strongly encourage you set up and run a test rodeo to learn the software before you go live.  This will get you familiar with the process, the various tools you will use, and test your payout calculations.  We much prefer that any issues happen on a low-stress Wednesday afternoon rather on a rodeo weekend when everything is urgent.  In the User Guide, there is a section on running a test rodeo.

Barrel Racing System

When you login to your account, you will be in the Dashboard.  From there you can access the User Guide by choosing Dashboard – User Guide from the menu, clicking the Jump to User Guide button, or simply scrolling down the screen.  The User Guide includes description of the features in Barrel Racing System (BRS).  At the end of the User Guide there is an instructional video which will show you how to use many of the features both with video demonstration and audio instructions.

When your BRS account is set up, it will include a sample set of test data to help you test out the system.  There are 20 members, 2 Show Dates, and several events complete with entries.  This test data will allow you to use the features of BRS right away and learn without having to add a bunch of your own data.  The members are all fake so feel free to test away.

If you are going to be taking online payment for your show entries, you will need to set up a Connected account on our payment Platform.  There will be instructions included in the initial email as well as information found in Dashboard – Your Account.

Team Roping System

When you login to your account, you will be in the Dashboard.  From there you can access the User Guide by choosing Dashboard – User Guide from the menu, clicking the Jump to User Guide button, or simply scrolling down the screen.  The User Guide includes description of the features in Team Roping System (TRS).

When your TRS account is set up, it will include a sample set of test data to help you test out the system.  There are 20 members, 2 Roping Dates, and several events complete with entries.  This test data will allow you to use the features of TRS right away and learn without having to add a bunch of your own data.  The members are all fake so feel free to test away.  Go ahead and run some draws, enter some data set up your own events, your own roping dates, and learn the many functions of the TRS.

If you are going to be taking online payment for your show entries, you will need to set up a Connected account on our payment Platform.  There will be instructions included in the initial email as well as information found in Dashboard – Your Account.

Set up your Events First

All of our software products need to have your events created before you set up your rodeos, shows, or ropings.  Think of it this way, when you set up your rodeos, you will need to indicate which events will be included in the rodeos.  Therefore, one of your first tasks will be to set up your events, then they will automatically be included when you create your first rodeo.

Getting Support

Sometimes the documentation and on-screen instructions just don’t explain everything.  When you need help, the best thing to do is send us an email (gsonntag@rodeoready.com) with a description of what you need help with and/or a screen shot if that helps to explain.  We have found over the years that most often if you are not getting the results you were expecting, it’s a setting that needs to be changed.  If you have looked in Settings – System Settings, you will know that there are lot of settings.  We are usually pretty quick with our responses and often we will pass the support around to the right person to help you out.
